Q&A: Dairelys Acosta Venero

Q&A: Dairelys Acosta Venero

I love the fact that you connect people to their needs, things they might not even know they need until your Ad pops up in front of them.

Meet Dairelys Acosta Venero, or as we call her, Dai. She was one of our Masterclass attendees in April, who after closing doors on her life in China, decided to open up to a new challenge in digital marketing and joined LeanSEM as a member of the Paid Social team. Read on, as she shares more about the motivations and initial thoughts on her newly found passion and profession.

It was about closing doors, leaving my life in China behind and deciding that I wanted to learn something new. It was also a way of testing myself and seeing if I could be any good at Digital Marketing.

  • What did you discover during the Masterclass? What’s the most important thing that you learned?

I started from scratch, had zero knowledge about Digital Marketing or Marketing in general. Everything was important, as the lessons were correlated one to another, but I would say that doing competitive research, getting to know what other companies are doing and coming up with ways to differentiate your clients and make them unique in front of the customers or other companies in the market was quite rewarding.

  • What are the key ingredients needed to become successful in this field?

From a beginner’s point of view, you need to be both logical and analytical. Be able to read the numbers and decide what’s working and what’s not and come up with new ideas about what to test next. When it comes to testing, the sky’s the limit.

  • What do you love most about paid digital advertising?

I love that it keeps me on my toes, the technical parts might vary slightly from client to client, but you need to keep coming with ways of keeping the Ads fresh and catchy in front of the customers. I also love the fact that you connect the people to their needs, things they might not even know they need until your Ad pops up in front of them.

  • What made you decide to be part of the LeanSEM team?

The environment, the opportunity the company gave me, the chance to learn a whole new set of skills from people that are Masters in the field.

  • What were your first impressions of LeanSEM when you joined?

Young people full of positivity, their willingness to work regardless of the time because they do what they love. Managers/ Mentors that take the time to explain things to you despite having loads of tasks, knowing that if you work hard, they work even harder. Love the team comradery between all the members of the company, in front of the clients, we are one.

  • What are some of the work challenges you face now and what are your goals for the future?

Some of the challenges that I face now is still being unable to get better insights when looking at the data from the reports. Yes, I get what’s not working, but what to do next, that’s what I struggle with most. As for goals, I simply want to keep growing professionally, become faster at doing analyses, reports and get more self-sufficient, both for myself and the company.
