How 2020 granted us stronger 2021 start

In 2020 LeanSEM grew by 80%

Twenty-twenty has been a challenging year. It has served as a scary reminder of the importance of family and health. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of you who’ve lost loved ones, lost a job, or are struggling in any way because of the pandemic. 

Having that in mind, we realize how fortunate we are that our company is doing better than planned. I couldn’t be more thankful to everyone at LeanSEM, whose tireless work made this the best year so far! We were prepared to work online, and we didn’t waste any time adapting to the new normal.

2020 was a year of amazing progress with many of our clients scaling their operations significantly. Here are some of the highlights we are most proud of:

  • LeanSEM grew 80% vs. 2019. Our plan was to grow by 50%.
  • 14 promotions given.
  • Developed a new creative team of 5 people allowing us to make a big impact on our clients’ messaging and positioning strategy.
  • Revamped the internal processes for delivering premium services. We are better and faster at making an impact.
    We’ve implemented a new project management tool, updated the internal client meetings, upgraded client presentation agendas, and templates.
  • Started paying out quarterly bonuses instead of yearly.
  • Built and launched a brand new website, check it out while you’re here
  • And the cherry on the 2020 cake is that we bought our own office! LeanSEM now has a permanent residence and is here to stay!

2021 – focus on growing Macedonian marketers into world-class experts

With everybody feeling more optimistic about 2021, we’ve come up with some ambitious but achievable goals:

  • Grow by 50% vs. 2020.
  • Grow the salaries across the board by min. 50%.
  • Continue developing the strongest performance marketing team in the world! We’ll continue investing heavily in growing people’s skills and values. This is the pillar of our success so far and we’ll double down our efforts.
  • Continue to improve our internal processes for delivering better than in-house PPC services.
  • Offer Free Google Ads Masterclasses and Q&A webinars for developing Macedonian marketers and hire talent.
  • Hire a People Officer in charge of building and spreading the culture of LeanSEM. We plan to grow LeanSEM to 30 A+ people by the end of 2021.
  • Continue to expand our creative services; we want to partner up with world-class designers/videographers, copywriters, brand folks, and all creatives that can add value to our clients’ bottom line.

The biggest challenge we had in 2020 was finding and mentoring new people. Working from home made it harder to connect personally and spread our culture which is the key to our success.
